About the Owners

MLEC is owned and managed by Tim & Libby Hott. Libby is a graduate of the University of Kansas and a former meeting and event planner. Libby returned home to Des Moines in 2001 after living in Denver and Chicago and served as the Business and Facility Manager for her mother’s Hunter/Jumper farm, Maffitt Lake Farms.  While showing in Ocala, Florida during the winter of 2007, Libby met what would soon be her partner in business and in life, Tim Hott.  Tim is an experienced horse show manager, holds his “R” in Hunter and Jumper Course Design and his Jumper Judges card.  Together, the two bring knowledge of horse shows from both the exhibitor and managers points of view.

In partnership with Hott Horse Shows, MLEC offers exhibitors a unique equestrian experience. Both Tim and Libby are former horse show exhibitors and equine enthusiasts and as such have partnered to create a complex state-of-the-art show center, unmatched anywhere in the Midwest.
